School Wash Fountains
Wash Fountains are multi user hand washing sinks designed to be freestanding in the school washroom. The hand wash fountains offer communal hand washing facilities in a small footprint to maximise on space, and offer a cost effective solution when compared to installing individual wash basins.
Pre-mixed water is dispensed from individual nozzles and can be controlled from separate hand valves, foot valves or sensor operated controls. Each station operates separately to avoid wasting water, and automatically turns off after use. All of our fountains are supplied fully assembled to save time and cost on your installation.
When it comes to installation our school wash fountains are available in two styles:
Circular wash fountains are available with a 972 mm diameter bowl for 6 users, or with a 1372 mm diameter sink bowl for 8 users. The round washing fountains are designed to be freestanding in an open space to allow users access all round, and are popular in the latest school washroom areas.
Semi-circular wash fountains are available for 4 users and are fixed to the floor and back wall.

Water Control Options
The wash fountains can be ordered with the following choice of water controls:
Hand operation – Individual push buttons activate a time flow valve to supply water to their individual spray head for 5 to 60 seconds. This time may be pre-set at each individual valve.
Foot operation – Individual foot valves activate the water supply to their individual spray head whilst the foot valve is depressed.
Sensor Operation – Individual Non-touch sensors activate the water supply to their individual spray head whilst the user’s hands are in the bowl area.
Guidance on Hand Washing for Schools
The Department for Education and Skills recommends communal hand wash sinks in schools instead of individual basins. Their reasoning is that communal sinks and wash fountains will be easier to maintain, look better and be easier to supervise.
The Toilets in Schools guidance, from the DFES, recommends communal hand-washing facilities that are separate from cubicle areas and lead directly onto corridors. Whether you require a freestanding circular washfountain, or a wall and floor mounted semi-circular model our range of wash fountains offer a cost effective alternative to individual sinks, and are the perfect solution for today's modern open plan communal toilets favoured in modern school toilet refurbishments.
