Recommended Upgrade: Marnic Infrared Flush Controller

Enhance eco friendly water efficiency and reduce your water bills by fitting the Marnic Infrared Flush Controller to your urinal cistern. The Water Regulations state that urinal flushing should be controlled to minimize water consumption, ideally only when the urinal has been used. The Marnic Water Watch fulfils the requirements of the Water Regulations.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What sizes do the stainless steel trough urinals come in?

We offer six standard sizes: 900mm, 1200mm, 1500mm, 1800mm, 2000mm, and 2400mm. Each size is suitable for multiple users, typically allowing for 1 user per 450 - 600mm of width. We can also offer our model WPUC wall hung trough urinals with a higher back for areas where older urinals are being replaced saving you re-tiling the walls.

2. Can I choose where the waste outlet is positioned?

Yes, you can select either a left-hand or right-hand 38mm dome grated waste outlet during ordering to suit your plumbing layout. Our model WPUC trough urinals came with a centre waste position if required.

3. What is the urinal made from?

Our trough urinals are manufactured from top quality Grade 304 stainless steel, available in 1.2mm or an optional 1.5mm thickness for enhanced durability and resistance to vandalism and corrosion. All of our urinals are manufactured in dedicated stainless steel production areas to prevent material cross contamination. Many manufacturers will cut, bend, weld, grind and polish mild steel and aluminium on the same machines and in the same area as their stainless steel work. This gives the potential for contamination and material problems when in use.

4. Is the cistern included with the urinal?

Yes, each unit includes a WRAS-approved plastic 9-litre or 13.65 litre cistern, stainless steel downpipe, wall clip, 22mm straight chrome plated connector, downpipe nut o ring, and petcock — everything you need for a compliant and efficient flushing system.

5. Why do you use plastic cisterns as standard?

This was requested and we listened. Most customers prefer the looks of a white plastic cistern which looks like the old original porcelain cisterns. Plastic cisterns also cause less condensation in your washrooms because plastic is a better insulator than stainless steel. This makes them easier to keep clean and the lighter weight makes them easier to install.

6. Can I upgrade to a stainless steel cistern?

Absolutely. We offer optional extras including:

    Stainless steel cistern
    Stainless steel downpipe cover
    Metal waste outlet
Trap covers for added security and aesthetic finish

7. Where can these urinals be installed?

Ideal for use in:

    Schools, colleges, and universities
    Stadiums and sports clubs
    Public conveniences and transport facilities
    Industrial, commercial, and factory washrooms
    Campsites, parks, and recreational venues

8. Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, all our stainless steel urinals come with a 1-year warranty against manufacturing and material defects, giving you peace of mind on your purchase.

9. How are the urinals installed?

The units are designed to be wall-hung using the keyhole fixing holes in the rear of the ends and the fixing holes at the bottom of the ends to prevent the urinal trough being lifted off of the keyhole fixings. A competent installer can connect the waste fitting to your buildings waste pipework  and a water supply to the auto flushing cistern easily, thanks to the pre-formed outlet and supplied components. All fittings between the auto cistern and the urinal are supplied with the urinal.

10. Can I order in bulk for large projects?

Yes. We supply to contractors, local authorities, schools, and commercial clients. Trade pricing is standard and volume discounts are available — please contact us directly for a quote.

11. Do you ship across the UK?

Yes, we offer nationwide UK delivery, with quick dispatch and competitive shipping rates. International delivery is also be available upon request.

12. What is your returns policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy for standard stock purchases only. To be eligible for a return, items must be agreed before return, in A1 condition, in their original packaging, and unused. Returns are subject to a 30% restocking fee, which helps cover the cost of outward carriage, card processing fees, and other administrative expenses. Please note that the customer is responsible for the return shipping costs. Full return information is attached to your original invoice and in our online terms and conditions. Non stock items and customised items are not eligible for return.

Stainless Steel Cleaning & Maintenance

To maintain a hygienic, corrosion-resistant finish, all Washware Essentials stainless steel products — including our wall-hung trough urinals — should be cleaned regularly with warm soapy water and a clean cloth.

Recommended Cleaning Tips:

Use washing up liquid and warm soapy water for daily cleaning.
Avoid bleach or products containing chlorides, as these will cause discolouration or surface damage.
Wipe in the direction of the grain to maintain the finish.
Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots or staining.
For stubborn marks or limescale refer to our cleaning and maintenance instructions.

Do not use steel wool, abrasive pads, or acidic cleaners.
